Mission
Student Outreach Services SOS is the intrusive care arm of Utah Tech University. Each initiative within SOS is designed to utilize proactive and intrusive strategies to intervene with students who may be at risk of academic failure or who show signs of social frustration transitioning into Utah Tech life. While many programs in higher education wait for students to come to them SOS actively seeks out these at-risk students. These programs represent UTs commitment to ensuring every student succeed. SOS encompasses Peer Coaching, Early Alert student concern forms, and the CARE team. Each initiative strives to engage students in every stage of their college journey. These programs seek to identify potential student concerns before they arrive create customized plans once they’re here and intervene as quickly as possible when warning signs become apparent.
